At Tartaczna 2 Medical Centre in Gdańsk, we provide HPV vaccination exclusively with Gardasil 9. This nine-valent vaccine is suitable for girls, boys and adult women and men. It helps protect against diseases caused by specific types of human papillomavirus.
Our clinic is located at 2 Tartaczna Street in Gdańsk city centre, in the Śródmieście district. We offer private, self-funded vaccination only. We do not provide HPV vaccination under the Polish National Health Fund (NFZ) programme.
Gardasil 9 covers nine HPV types: 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52 and 58. It helps prevent:
Vaccination does not protect against every HPV type or every cause of cancer. It also does not replace cervical screening.
Gardasil 9 can be given from the age of 9. Vaccination offers the greatest benefit before exposure to the virus, ideally before sexual activity begins.
HPV vaccination is not just for girls. Boys can also benefit from protection against HPV-related diseases, including genital warts and precancerous lesions and cancers of the anus.
Being sexually active does not rule out vaccination. For adults, the decision is individual and takes account of previous vaccination, possible past exposure to HPV and the risk of new infections.
The vaccine does not treat an existing infection, but it may protect against other HPV types covered by the vaccine that the person has not yet encountered.
The number of doses depends mainly on your age at the first vaccination and your health. The schedules below follow the Gardasil 9 Summary of Product Characteristics.
If the first dose is given before the 15th birthday, a two-dose schedule can be used: the first dose on the chosen date and the second usually 6–12 months later. The permitted interval between doses is 5–13 months.
If the second dose is given less than 5 months after the first, a third dose is required. In certain medical circumstances, a doctor may recommend a three-dose schedule.
The standard schedule consists of three doses at months 0, 2 and 6. This means the second dose is given 2 months after the first, and the third 6 months after the first.

We will agree the dates of your next doses during your appointment. If you have already received any doses, please bring a record of the vaccination dates and the vaccine used. If a dose has been delayed, contact us to discuss how to continue your course.
An HPV test or cervical cytology is not required solely to assess eligibility for vaccination. A positive HPV result or abnormal cytology does not automatically rule out vaccination, but these findings require appropriate follow-up independently of the vaccine.

Vaccinations are administered by our appropriately trained nurses and midwives. You can book a pre-vaccination assessment and vaccination directly with nurse Edyta Mechlińska, who has completed specialist immunisation training and independently assesses eligibility within her professional authorisation.
Our doctors, including gynaecologists, oncologists and surgical oncologists, also carry out pre-vaccination assessments. Our reception team will help arrange an appointment with an appropriate professional, taking account of the patient's age and health.
The vaccine is given by an intramuscular injection, usually into the upper arm. Please remain at the clinic for observation for approximately 15 minutes afterwards, or longer if advised by the clinical team.
A severe allergic reaction to a vaccine component or a previous dose is a contraindication. A moderate or severe acute illness may mean vaccination needs to be postponed. A mild infection does not always require a delay; the professional assessing you will advise.
Gardasil 9 is not recommended during pregnancy; any remaining doses should be postponed until after pregnancy. The vaccine can be used during breastfeeding.
The most common side effects include pain, redness or swelling at the injection site and headache. These are usually mild or moderate. Fainting can occur in connection with the injection itself, which is one reason why observation after vaccination is important.
If you develop difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or suddenly feel seriously unwell, alert the clinic staff immediately. If you are outside the clinic, call 112 for emergency help.
Gardasil 9 vaccination at Tartaczna 2 is a private, self-funded service. We do not participate in the NFZ-funded HPV vaccination programme.
