G-spot augmentation (G-shot) is the term used for injecting a filler, usually hyaluronic acid, into a selected area of the anterior vaginal wall. The aim is to increase local tissue volume. At Tartaczna 2 Medical Centre in Gdańsk, assessment and treatment are provided by Dr Marek Korożan.
Increasing tissue volume does not guarantee improved sensitivity, libido or the ability to reach orgasm. High-quality research has not sufficiently established the effectiveness of these injections for improving sexual function.
The term “G-spot” describes an area of the anterior vaginal wall, close to the urethra, that some women report as particularly sensitive. A separate structure with a consistent location, size and anatomy in all women has not been established.
Responses to stimulation vary. Not reaching orgasm through penetration alone does not indicate abnormal anatomy or a “G-spot that does not work”. Pleasure depends on several factors, including clitoral stimulation, arousal, comfort and health.

The illustration shows the approximate region commonly described as the G-spot. Its location and sensitivity are not identical in every woman.
A consultation may help if reduced sensation, difficulty reaching orgasm, dryness or pain during intercourse is troubling you. Your doctor will ask about the duration of your symptoms, medicines, childbirth and previous surgery, and assess possible causes.
Depending on the diagnosis, appropriate options may include treatment for dryness or a vulval condition, pelvic health physiotherapy or psychosexual therapy. These options and the limitations of injections should be discussed before deciding on a procedure.
After assessing your suitability, the doctor agrees the injection area and selects a preparation. Hyaluronic acid is injected locally into tissue in the anterior vaginal wall to make the area more prominent. Local anaesthesia is used.
The procedure usually takes around 20 minutes, depending on its extent. Brief stinging, pressure or discomfort may still occur despite the anaesthetic. Afterwards, you receive individual aftercare instructions and information about follow-up.
Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is prepared from your own blood. PRP injections are a separate procedure and do not act like a conventional filler that increases tissue volume. Their effects on sexual function remain under investigation.
Preliminary reports of improvement in some women do not justify promises of increased libido, easier orgasms or a particular duration of benefit. Your doctor will explain which method is being considered and the reasons for suggesting it.
A local increase in prominence may be visible after filler injection. Early appearance and sensation are also affected by swelling. A change in tissue volume is not, by itself, evidence of improved sexual function.
Response and the duration of any benefit vary between individuals. An immediate result or a benefit lasting a year cannot be guaranteed. Any repeat procedure should follow reassessment rather than an automatic schedule.
Tell your doctor about medicines, allergies, bleeding disorders, previous injections and surgery in the area. Do not stop anticoagulant or antiplatelet medicines on your own.
Your doctor will decide whether additional tests are needed and agree an appropriate date for the procedure.
Possible complications include pain, swelling, bleeding, infection, lumps or unevenness after filler, scarring, altered sensation and pain during intercourse. Further treatment may be needed, and the result may be unsatisfactory.
Follow the hygiene instructions you receive. Avoid pressing or massaging the injection site, intercourse and activities that irritate the area until your doctor advises that you can resume them. Attend the agreed follow-up appointment.
Increasing pain, a fever, significant bleeding or difficulty passing urine requires prompt medical advice.
