Treatment Room

The treatment room in Gdańsk at Tartaczna 2 Medical Centre provides nursing procedures, wound care, sample collection and selected diagnostic tests. Patients continuing treatment prescribed elsewhere can also use our services, following prior confirmation of the procedure and the documentation required.

Our team includes nurse Edyta Mechlińska and midwives Joanna Wojciechowska and Agnieszka Kamińska. Please book your treatment room appointment in advance.

Nursing services – dressings, stitch and staple removal

Appointments can include assessment of a wound, dressing changes and advice on wound care. Stitches or staples are removed according to postoperative instructions and an assessment of healing. Bring your discharge summary or procedure records.

We can also assess and help with small, superficial foreign bodies, such as a splinter. Deeply embedded material, significant inflammation or poor healing may require a medical consultation, including assessment by a surgeon.

Increasing pain, redness, pus, wound separation or fever need medical review. Care is tailored to the wound and the patient's needs.

Nurse and midwife consultations

A nursing consultation may include assessment of care needs, discussion of postoperative instructions and guidance on caring for a wound. Our midwives support patients preparing for childbirth, during the postnatal period and with breastfeeding difficulties. Contact reception to arrange the appropriate consultation.

Prescribed injections and intravenous infusions

We administer intramuscular, subcutaneous and intravenous injections, and intravenous infusions, according to a doctor's written instructions and after assessing suitability for outpatient care. The medicine, dose, route and infusion time depend on the prescription and the product.

Before attending, ask reception which documents are required and how to supply a medicine if it is to be brought from outside the centre. Tell staff about allergies, previous drug reactions and long-term conditions. During treatment, report pain, burning or swelling around the injection site, or feeling unwell.

ECG, Holter monitoring, spirometry and CTG

• Resting ECG – a recording of the heart's electrical activity.
• Holter ECG monitoring – a longer recording of heart rhythm during everyday activities.
• Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) – automatic blood pressure measurements during the day and at night.
• Spirometry – measurement of the volume and flow of exhaled air.
• Cardiotocography (CTG) – recording the baby's heart rate and uterine contractions when indicated during pregnancy care.

Sample collection and vaccinations

We collect blood and samples for selected microbiology, virology and cytology tests. The collection method and preparation depend on the test. Fasting is not required for every examination. Check our laboratory services or contact reception for information, including the availability of rapid diagnostic tests.

We also provide vaccinations following assessment. The number of doses and intervals depend on the vaccine and the patient. Confirm vaccine availability before attending.

Treatment room opening hours and appointments

• Monday–Friday: 08:00–12:00.
• Saturday: 09:00–11:00.

Please book in advance by telephone or email. Tell us which procedure you need and whether you have a doctor's instructions, so staff can confirm availability and preparation. Laboratory samples are collected Monday to Friday, 08:00–12:00, and Saturdays, 09:00–12:00. Sample collection and booking arrangements are described separately on the laboratory page.
